Some people unwind with popcorn or a handful of chips. Me? I reach for garlic lemon prawns and a creamy seafood dip. It sounds extra — and maybe it is — but food has always been my love language, even when I’m just cooking for myself. There’s something about bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and a little kitchen magic that makes even an ordinary afternoon feel like a moment.
These two recipes have become my personal “treat yourself” ritual. They’re quick, they’re vibrant, and they taste like the kind of snack you’d order at a coastal restaurant… except they’re made right at home, seasoned exactly the way I like them.
✨ Why These Two?
Because they’re simple, soulful, and full of flavor. They make me feel like I’m treating myself, even on a busy day. And they’re the kind of recipes that remind me why I love cooking — it’s creative, it’s comforting, and it’s a way to bring a little joy into the everyday.
If you want to try them yourself, I put both recipes — plus two cocktails to pair with them — into a special mini collection. You can grab it right from my website and bring these flavors into your own kitchen.

Because snacks should be fun, flavorful, and just a little bit fancy.
What was the hardest personal goal you’ve set for yourself?
You sit down with a cup of tea, a clear intention, and a to-do list that feels more like a manifesto. You’re ready to create, connect, and move the needle. But five minutes in, your phone buzzes, your thoughts scatter, and suddenly you’re deep in a rabbit hole of reels, reminders, and resistance.
Sound familiar?
Focus isn’t just about productivity—it’s about honoring your energy, your vision, and your why. In a world designed to distract, staying focused is a radical act of self-respect.
🌿 The Ritual of Recommitment
Focus begins with a ritual. Not a rigid routine, but a soulful recommitment to your purpose. Light a candle. Breathe. Ask yourself: What matters most right now? This isn’t about doing more—it’s about doing what aligns.
Try this:
Morning mantra: “I choose clarity over chaos.”
Visual anchor: Keep a symbol of your goal nearby—a photo, a word, a color.
Time container: Block 90 minutes for deep work, then pause and reset.
🧠 The Myth of Multitasking
Multitasking feels efficient, but it’s a thief of depth. When your attention is split, your creativity gets diluted. Instead, embrace monotasking—one soulful task at a time.
Write with your phone in another room.
Batch similar tasks (emails, edits, outreach).
Celebrate completion, not just progress.
💬 The Power of Boundaries
Focus flourishes where boundaries are honored. That means saying no to what doesn’t serve, and yes to what fuels your flow.
Digital detox: Silence notifications during sacred work hours.
Social clarity: Let others know your focus windows.
Inner permission: You don’t have to be available to everyone, all the time.
🌕 The Gentle Pivot
Some days, focus feels slippery. That’s okay. Instead of forcing it, pivot gently. Ask: What’s one small thing I can complete today that moves me closer to my vision?
Progress isn’t linear—it’s layered. Honor the season you’re in.
If you had to give up one word that you use regularly, what would it be?
The one word that stops us in our tracks, the one that unintentionally makes us believe that something is impossible, the one that says you’ve given up. That word for me is “can’t “. This word simply should not exist in your vocabulary.
Not because it’s harsh or impolite—but because it’s limiting. Can’t is the quiet thief of possibility. It whispers doubt, dims potential, and convinces us to shrink from the edge of growth.
Every time I’ve said “I can’t,” I’ve felt a part of me give up before I even tried. But I’ve learned that most of the time, can’t isn’t truth—it’s fear dressed up as certainty. It’s me feeling tired or simply feeling as though something is too hard.
So I’m choosing to replace it with let me ponder that, not yet, or even let’s see. Because the moment we stop saying can’t, we start making space for what could be. Saying the word “can’t” tells our subconscious to not even try simply because we’ve given up. It’s the party pooper for any entrepreneur, anyone looking to better themselves, complete a project, or simply just to step out on faith.
I used the word so frequently. However I was able to fight against what it was telling my subconscious by changing my vocabulary and taking natural organic supplements (made in the UK- and they don’t play around like the U.S.)to help stimulate my brain. Supplements That Slay
Not vegan. Not vegetarian. Don’t want to eat regular. What can I do?
Navigating the world of food choices can be overwhelming, especially when you’re a foodie. With fake and ultra processed foods dominating more than 70% of any local grocery store, many of us are left concerned with ‘what the hell do I eat?’ Join me by continuing to read how I discovered relating to being a Flexitarian by redefining what my relationship with food looks like. I uncovered the truth behind what’s on our plates and finding a balanced path that doesn’t fit neatly into anyone popular category.
Do you ever find yourself wanting to tone up and not being able to rid those rolls in the back? Have you ever wanted to eat better and purchased a healthy snack bar then found out it’s filled with unhealthy sugars? Have you ever heard the conversation of the older generation in a healthcare setting? If you’ve answered yes to any of this it’s wise to keep reading.
I’ve found it hard to accept the fact that we live in a country where money is more valuable than life. It’s hard to accept the same people who are pro life, are willing to impact those people (men & women) whom would create life. Our weight is a constant reminder on tv, social media, movies, and even the music we listen to. It’s a constant thought that lives in our subconscious but only emerges around the holidays. I struggled with eating bad all day. Although I wanted to do better, I wasn’t willing to just be vegan or vegetarian. I haven’t got there just yet, but I’m on my way to something different.
A few years ago, oblivious to myself, I began to redefine my relationship with food. Sparked by curiosity and desire for better health, I decided I wanted and needed change. Initially, I misunderstood fasting, thinking it was only about abstaining from habits like cursing or eating fried chicken. But as I delved deeper, I discovered the power of intermittent fasting and adopted new dietary practices. Cutting out some meats, processed sugars, and focusing on lean meats/protein with more fruits and vegetables has transformed my life.
For me and many others, the word ‘no’ isn’t often liked. It’s frowned upon. However, I had to be real with myself and capable to tell my own self no. No to overeating, no to processed foods, no to eating out often, no to my favorite candies, and much more. I figured if I didn’t want to have health problems in the future, I’d better start telling myself no.
My journey wasn’t east. Cravings, irritability, and kids walking up to you with their potato chips ~ I WAS TESTED. Over time I found comfort in the process, and it reshaped my mind. I now had discipline and awareness. I felt like I had just discovered life’s hidden treasure. My biggest wake up was seeing my grandmother go from vibrant and full of life to not moving as she once did. I’m a true believer that healthcare starts in the kitchen, not the hospital.
Today, I balance fasting with mindful indulgences, prioritizing fruits and veggies, while being fully aware of what I’m consuming and how it impacts my body. I came upon a 2 Week Fast that was so different than anything I had ever done before. The eating options were so good. It was a challenge but why not when it’s me against me?
I challenge you to change something, anything, about your eating habits. Don’t look at it as a diet ~ just cut certain things out or reduce them. Get active, become a kid again. As scary as it may seem, sometimes you just have to know that YOU’RE WORTH IT.
Are your current eating habits truly serving your well-being? What small change today could lead to a healthier tomorrow? Ready to invest in a better version of yourself? Let’s journey together—subscribe for exclusive insights and get the 2 Week Fasting Guideline! How does that vibe with you?
If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be, and why?
Right now in todays world, if I could be anyone it would be an AI 😂😂. As silly is it may be this is what it seems the world wants and the direction we are headed. I have a love/ unsure vibe about it though.
Im a chef, and my concern would be how much longer would it be before AI has taken over this role like many others. I’ve done some reading where this technology has already entered the kitchen in many different ways. It can help with recipes, in some cases cook, act as your waiter or waitress, and even deliver.
If this is where we are headed I wouldn’t think it would be bad to have a second me as an AI generated chef robot. I’m open minded when it comes to learning more.
If you have any insight or information about AI being in the kitchen, please share.

It’s nothing worse than going out with friends and looking at a menu only to find the worst drinks. Or maybe just some that doesn’t sound great. You take a chance on one and find out it doesn’t taste that great either.
It’s bad enough the drink probably cost $10 or more. But then you’re subject to having to finish the thing. Worst nightmare.
This is part reason I became a bartender. One that travels too. I love looking at different ingredients and getting an amazing idea. I also think the presentation of a drink also matters. People tend to taste with their eyes before their mouths even get a chance.
For National Margarita Day, check out my Gooseberry Margarita 🍹. Very tasty and delicious.
Tell us about your favorite pair of shoes, and where they’ve taken you.
My favorite pair of shoes are my feet, my natural shoes that God provided me with. I’ve been blessed to wake up everyday and get up to go into a commercial kitchen and cook for different catering events.
The shoes never matter to me as long as my feet are working properly. I can be in good shoes but none of that matters if my feet aren’t working properly. I’ve been able to be in many rooms I couldn’t imagine being in without them.
If you’re on Amazon please check out my latest book called “ Cocktail Therapy “. The link is below ❣️
My dream home starts in the kitchen. The kitchen is as big as a master bedroom. It will have a long island in the middle, marble floors, 2 ovens, and one of the largest refrigerators. I need a gas stove top, large sinks, walk in pantry with shelves. Heated floors not just in the kitchen but all throughout the home.
2 story closet in the master bedroom with floor to ceiling mirrors and windows that can’t be seen from outside the home. Floating bathtub, separate standing shower with large shower heads at least three that shoots water into different directions. A large vanity area with lots of bright lights.
The home sits in 5 acres with a lake in the back. I have my she shed where I host friends with my mobile bar. I would have a luxury pool and spa in the back yard with enough room remaining for my garden area and my dogs to run free.
The home sits far back from the main road with camera surveillance.
